Get some film inspiration from these 10 awesome indie film websites.

Ever feel like you’ve hit a creative wall? Thankfully there are ways to get those creative juices flowing again. We’ve rounded up some of the best websites for indie film for your creative inspiration. Enjoy.

1. Documentary Storm

Documentary Storm features documentaries from around the world. They offer free documentaries in tons of categories. They also have a “surprise me” button that randomly picks a documentary in case you can’t decide.

2. SnagFilms

Snagfilms features over 10,000 free movies from any genre. Moreover, Snagfilms has apps across many platforms including Apple and Amazon. Each film is rated by users making it easy to find good movies.

3. FilmNet

Filmnet is a great way to watch indie films created by students and industry professionals alike. It also has a really awesome section devoted entirely to animated films. Aside from just film, the website has TV shows and music videos for your viewing pleasure.

4. IndieMoviesOnline

Indie Movies Online has shorts, features, and event coverage. The site is special because it has a whole section dedicated to covering film festivals.

5. Festival of Films

Festival of Films features a ton of awesome free films but also gives users the option to rent certain films. The site also features a large selection of documentaries.

Vimeo is by far our favorite place to watch awesome independent movies online. The secret to finding awesome videos on Vimeo is to follow some of the curated channels including Vimeo Staff Picks.
