Welcome the newest PremiumBeat blogger: Ashley Kennedy

There’s a new PremiumBeat blogger in town…

ashley

Hello! My name is Ashley Kennedy, and I’m thrilled to join PremiumBeat as the newest post-production blogger. Each week, I’ll be covering material related to editing in both Avid and Final Cut Pro, as well as other post-production tools and workflows. I can’t wait to start engaging with the passionate community here at PremiumBeat.

Expect at least one in-depth video tutorial per week, along with loads of exciting posts that will offer you useful editing quick tips, detailed articles on effective editing techniques, interviews with industry professionals, and interactive surveys and contests. I am here to serve, so if you’d like to see me cover a particular topic, let me know!

And, while we’re getting to know one another, here’s just a little bit about my background:

I’m a passionate, experienced video editor with a focus in documentary post-production and additional background in narrative and commercial formats. As former Principle Instructor and Certifications Program Manager at Avid Technology, Inc., I taught and developed the Avid Certified curriculum, and also managed the Avid Certified Instructor worldwide program.

Currently, I teach courses in the advanced post-production curriculum at Columbia College Chicago. I am also the Digital Media Instructor for Columbia College’s Center for Instructional Technology, where I designs technology-focused workshops and courses for campus-wide faculty. I recently wrote a textbook, “Editing with Avid Media Composer 5,” which is currently being sold worldwide, and have designed several editing courses on lynda.com.

Again, I’m so excited to join this community, and I look forward to your continued comments and feedback!
