Giuseppe Giordani (1751 – 1798) was an Italian composer, mainly of opera. His first opera (L'Epponina) was released in 1779. Giordani's aria Caro Mio Ben for voice and piano and was used in the film Amadeus.

The original orchestral suite was written by Bach for his patron Prince Leopold of Anhalt sometime between the years 1717 and 1723. The Air on the G String was the very first work by Bach to be recorded.
