In addition, <strong>Adobe Premiere Pro CC<\/strong> has added a lot of shortcuts to the Default keyboard settings, which saves you the time of adding them individually.<\/p>\n<p>To clarify keyboard shortcuts: <strong>Mac users have Command &amp; Option, PC users have Control &amp; Alt<\/strong>. \u00a0The following shortcuts are written with Command &amp; Option. \u00a0Simply sub these keys out for Control &amp; Alt on a PC.<\/p>\n<p><strong>All the Default Shortcuts for Premiere Pro CC are listed <a title=\"Keyboard shortcuts in Premiere Pro C\" href=\"http:\/\/helpx.adobe.com\/premiere-pro\/using\/default-keyboard-shortcuts-cc.html\" target=\"_blank\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">here.<\/a>\u00a0 <\/strong>Let&#8217;s dive into some of the must know timeline shortcuts for Premiere Pro CC:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<h3 id=\"toggle-audio-scrubshift-s\"><span style=\"color: #b8860b;\">Toggle Audio Scrub:<\/span><br \/>\nShift + S<\/h3>\n<div>\n<p>Sometimes you want to hear audio when you scrub, sometimes you don&#8217;t. Turning off scrubbing increases processing power.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3 id=\"toggle-trim-typecontrol-t-shift-on-pc\"><span style=\"color: #b8860b;\">Toggle Trim Type:<\/span><br \/>\nControl + T (Shift on PC)<\/h3>\n<div>\n<p>Toggles between standard trim (leaves a gap), ripple and roll.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3 id=\"ripple-trimnext-edit-w-previous-edit-q\"><span style=\"color: #b8860b;\">Ripple Trim:<\/span><br \/>\nNext Edit &#8211; W , Previous Edit &#8211; Q<\/h3>\n<div>\n<p>Lets you trim the head or tail of a clip, a quick way to work.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3 id=\"slip-clip-in-sequenceoption-command-left-right-keysadd-shift-to-move-5-frames\"><span style=\"color: #b8860b;\">Slip Clip in Sequence:<\/span><br \/>\nOption+ Command + left\/right keys<br \/>\nAdd Shift to move 5 frames<\/h3>\n<div>\n<p>Changes the in and out points of the clip in the Premiere Pro timeline. \u00a0Note, it doesn&#8217;t change the length of the clip.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3 id=\"slide-clip-in-sequenceoption-left-or-option-rightadd-shift-to-move-5-frames\"><span style=\"color: #b8860b;\">Slide Clip in Sequence:<\/span><br \/>\nOption + , (left) or Option +. (right)<br \/>\nAdd Shift to move 5 frames<\/h3>\n<div>\n<p>Looks at 3 clips, slides the middle clip left or right. \u00a0Thehe clips to the left\/right adjust in length (the middle clip stays the same length).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3 id=\"add-keyframes-to-opacity-volumecommand-click-with-selection-tool\"><span style=\"color: #b8860b;\">Add keyframes to Opacity\/Volume:<\/span><br \/>\nCommand Click with Selection Tool<\/h3>\n<div>\n<p>This is quicker than switching to the pen tool to add keyframes and then switching back to the selection tool. If you don&#8217;t see the white line for opacity\/volume, go to the wrench (Timeline Display Settings) and select &#8220;Show Video Keyframes&#8221; or &#8220;Show Audio Keyframes&#8221;.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3 id=\"nudge-move-a-clip-up-or-downup-or-down-arrows\"><span style=\"color: #b8860b;\">Nudge (move a clip up or down):<\/span><br \/>\nUp or Down Arrows<\/h3>\n<div>\n<p>Hold Alt\/Option to select just video or audio (or click the linked selection button), then use the up or down arrow. This will add tracks if they don&#8217;t already exist (similar to the FCP behavior)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3 id=\"nestno-default-i-use-option-cshift-t-reveals-clips-in-nest\"><span style=\"color: #b8860b;\">Nest:<\/span><br \/>\nNo Default\u00a0(I use Option + C)<br \/>\nShift + T reveals clips in nest<\/h3>\n<div>Select the clips you want to Nest, then press Option + C. Name the Nest a specific, useful name. Do not use the defaults. If I then wanted to step into the Nest I created, Shift + T will show me the original clips. This is a round-trip, in that you make your changes in Audition and they show up back in Premiere Pro. This is also a round-trip, in that you make your changes in After Effects and they show up back in Premiere Pro. Use this when you need to just send a clip to After Effects for something that cant be done in Premiere Pro (like Motion Tracking). When you click on a clip in a group, they all turn grey (selected).\u00a0 Grouping allows you to move multiple clips as one clip.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Some things to know about <strong>Groups in Premiere Pro<\/strong>:<br \/>\n&#8211; If you click on the edge of a clip, it trims just that clip.<br \/>\n&#8211; If you select the group first, clocking on an edge trims the group<br \/>\n&#8211; Grouping will let you swap edit multiple clips as one clip.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3 id=\"add-editcommand-k-for-targeted-tracks\"><span style=\"color: #b8860b;\">Add Edit:<\/span><br \/>\nCommand + K\u00a0 (for targeted tracks)<\/h3>\n<div>\n<p>Similar to using the Razor Tool, but it cuts tracks that are targeted (will cut all tracks that are targeted). To view your add edits in a Sequence, click the wrench icon and select &#8220;Show Through Edits&#8221;.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3 id=\"replace-with-clip-from-sourceno-default-i-use-shift-r\"><span style=\"color: #b8860b;\">Replace with Clip from Source:<\/span><br \/>\nNo Default (I use Shift + R)<\/h3>\n<div>\n<p>Replace Edits looks at where the playheads are in the Source &amp; Sequence (ignoring the In and Out). This shortcut now applies the transition to all clips.
