Check this\u00a0<a title=\"https:\/\/www.premiumbeat.com\/blog\/keeping-your-video-editing-project-organized\/\" href=\"http:\/\/www.premiumbeat.com\/blog\/keeping-your-video-editing-project-organized\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">post on getting organized<\/a>\u00a0and use the free project&#8217;s bin structure as a starting point.<\/p>\n<p>Create a bin by clicking on the &#8220;New Bin&#8221; button.<\/p>\n<p>Be aware that if a bin is selected when you do this, you are creating a bin within a bin.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-35725\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.amazonaws.com\/pbblogassets\/uploads\/2014\/02\/Screen-Shot-2014-02-14-at-2.29.27-PM.png\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"find-clips-in-premiere-pro\">Find Clips in Premiere Pro<\/h2>\n<p>You can search for footage by name by typing in the find box search window. This is useful if you&#8217;re working with a mass of footage &#8211; but the footage must be organized for the search to be effective.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-35732\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.amazonaws.com\/pbblogassets\/uploads\/2014\/02\/Screen-Shot-2014-02-14-at-2.35.10-PM.png\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>You can also search for Faces by clicking on the magnifying glass. For this to work, you have to analyze the clips for Face Detection. This feature is VERY handy when working with a lot of interview footage.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-35734\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.amazonaws.com\/pbblogassets\/uploads\/2014\/02\/Screen-Shot-2014-02-14-at-2.44.07-PM.png\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>To analyze your footage for <strong>Face Detection in Premiere Pro<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px;\">Select the clips, right click and select &#8220;Analyze Content&#8221;.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px;\">Choose &#8220;Face Detection&#8221; and click Ok. Click, hold and drag to change the order of the columns.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-35788\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.amazonaws.com\/pbblogassets\/uploads\/2014\/02\/Screen-Shot-2014-02-14-at-4.51.06-PM.png\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>By default there are a lot of columns visible, and you may be overwhelmed by the amount of information displayed.\u00a0You can customize what columns are visible in list view.<\/p>\n<p>I generally customize what columns are visible based on what kind of project I am working on (narrative, doc, music video).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/s3.amazonaws.com\/pbblogassets\/uploads\/2014\/02\/Screen-Shot-2014-02-14-at-12.04.28-PM.png\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-35615\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.amazonaws.com\/pbblogassets\/uploads\/2014\/02\/Screen-Shot-2014-02-14-at-12.04.28-PM.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"497\" height=\"75\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 13px;\">From the project pulldown, select Metadata Display.<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 13px;\">\u00a0Uncheck the box for Premiere Pro Project Metadata.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 13px;\">Then click on the twirly to reveal the columns. If you click on the clip a yellow bar appears (shows the in &amp; out points) and a playhead.<\/p>\n<p>You can drag the playhead, or use the<strong> J,K or L shortcuts<\/strong> to play the clip.
