Adding markers in Final Cut Pro X is a great way to share information about your sequence with others, or to remind yourself of things you need to do.\u00a0 You’re probably already familiar with the basics of markers, but this post will discuss a number of marker-related shortcuts that will serve you well.<\/p>\n

Marker Basics<\/h2>\n

To add a marker:<\/h3>\n

  1. Park the playhead on the desired frame in the Timeline, and press m<\/strong>.\u00a0 A blue marker will be inserted.<\/li>\n
  2. Press “m” again to open the Marker dialog box where you can change the name of the marker.

    \nIf you want to open the Marker dialog box immediately, press Option + m<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  3. If you want to change the marker into a To Do item, press the Make To Do Item<\/strong> button in the Marker dialog box.\u00a0 A red marker will be inserted, instead of a blue one.\u00a0 Additionally, the Make To Do Item button will change to a Completed<\/strong> check box.
