Even more, YouTube made more on <a title=\"Youtube Ad Revenue\" href=\"http:\/\/variety.com\/2013\/digital\/news\/youtube-to-gross-5-6-billion-in-ad-revenue-in-2013-report-1200944416\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">ad revenue in 2013<\/a> ($5.6B) than <a title=\"Highest Grossing Films\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/List_of_highest-grossing_films\" target=\"_blank\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">Avatar, the Avengers and Frozen<\/a> combined. Pretty incredible, right?<\/p>\n<p>YouTube continues to add new features for their content creators. At <a title=\"Vidcon\" href=\"http:\/\/vidcon.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">Vidcon<\/a>\u00a0last week,\u00a0<strong>YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki<\/strong> announced a few new features that filmmakers should know about&#8230;.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"1-creator-studio\">1. Creator Studio<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-42653\" style=\"border: none;\" title=\"Key States\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.amazonaws.com\/pbblogassets\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Key-States.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"468\" height=\"324\" \/><\/p>\n<p>YouTube has notoriously been a poor place to get accurate viewer analytics. Viewer data was often delayed by up to <strong>3 days<\/strong> for some videos, making it very difficult to track the progress&#8230; especially if it went &#8216;viral&#8217;. This is where the Creator Studio comes into play.<\/p>\n<p>The Creator Studio is a new feature in YouTube that allows users to track &#8220;real-time&#8221; analytics for their YouTube videos from their <strong>smart<\/strong><strong>phones and computers<\/strong>. Users will also be able to manage their videos and comments from the Creator Studio. Currently the Creator Studio App is available for Android with an Apple iOS version coming soon.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"2-fan-funding\">2. If a user feels so inclined they can easily give a<strong> $1-$500<\/strong> donation to content creators. This is an easy way for audiences to financially show their appreciation for short films and video tutorials. Vimeo has had a <a title=\"Similar Feature\" href=\"https:\/\/vimeo.com\/creatorservices\/tipjar\" target=\"_blank\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">similar feature<\/a> on their site for some time, but YouTube has a larger audience which means more opportunities to make money.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"3-subtitles-from-users\">3. YouTube is rolling out a framework for bilingual users to submit <strong>closed captioning<\/strong> for videos that don&#8217;t have a supported language. Once approved, users will be able to watch the video with the translated subtitles. This will allow your film audience to be larger than before.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"4-click-to-purchase-interactive-cards\">4. YouTube is taking this feature to the next level. Content creators will soon be able to add in <strong>interactive cards<\/strong> that link to Google related retailers to purchase music, films and other products. Luckily for you, YouTube has announced that it will soon allow users to upload videos at <strong>48 and 60fps<\/strong>.
