GoPro\u00a0issues a recall for all Karma drones due to power failure during operation.<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n

GoPro may have needed it’s Karma drone<\/a> to help save the company, but\u00a0things just took a turn for the worse.<\/strong> The company has issued a recall on all Karma drones<\/strong>\u00a0due to a “performance issue related to a loss of power during operation.” There were a small number of cases in which the drones lost power.<\/strong> GoPro said they are working with the\u00a0U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and the Federal Aviation Administration on the recall.<\/p>\n

The GoPro Karma was only on the market for 16 days and apparently sold around 2500 units<\/a>.<\/strong> Admittedly, I was looking forward to getting my hands on one to try<\/a>, but that doesn’t look like it\u00a0will be happening any time soon. The GoPro site currently shows all Karma drones as Temporarily Unavailable.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

GoPro has said that all owners should immediately cease operations and return their units.<\/strong> While the Hero5 and Karma Grip are not being recalled, they must be returned (if they were purchased as part of a bundle) for a full refund.<\/p>\n

GoPro is not currently exchanging units, as they are investigating the issue. The company plans to make Karma available once the issue has been resolved \u2014 but right now things aren’t looking promising.<\/p>\n

GoPro is serious about the recall…they are issuing refunds without receipts<\/strong>. The return of your unit will allow you to receive a full refund as long as all accessories are also returned.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
