I was experimenting with DaVinci Resolve’s editing capabilities<\/strong> using RocketStock’s Corruption effects pack<\/a> when I realized I had a little\u00a0trouble finding the blending mode<\/strong> options. Well, it’s because I was looking for the wrong thing. My mind was still in Adobe CC<\/strong> mode \u2014 DaVinci Resolve doesn’t have “blending modes.” Instead, it uses Composite Modes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n If you need to overlay an effect, grain, or clip in DaVinci Resolve \u2014 here’s how.<\/p>\n With your footage and overlay in the timeline, move the overlay above your footage<\/strong>\u00a0on the V2 track (V3, V4, etc).<\/p>\n In the top right corner, open up the Inspector<\/strong>. If you don’t have a track selected, there will be nothing to inspect<\/strong><\/em>. Click on the overlay to reveal the clip’s information in the Inspector.<\/p>\n In the Inspector<\/strong>, select the Video<\/strong> tab. You will then see the Composite<\/strong> section. Within that section, select the drop-down menu next to Composite Mode<\/strong>. Select the mode of your choice.
