Have a video clip with audio, but the audio track doesn’t show up in the timeline? Here’s the super quick fix you’ve been searching for.<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I ran into this infuriating issue that has an embarrassingly simple fix. While editing, I was trying to drag\u00a0a clip into my timeline, but the audio <\/a>wasn’t showing up in any of the audio lanes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I scrolled from A1 all the way to the bottom, and there was no audio to be found.\u00a0As I shot the video myself, I knew full well I had recorded audio with the shot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’m sure plenty of others out there are running into this problem, so here is the one-click fix<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If your clip doesn’t show\u00a0the accompanying audio, go ahead and delete the clip from the timeline<\/strong>. Now, in the timeline, hover over the first A1 on the left side. You’ll see the right A1 is already highlighted blue. Click on A1 to enable it<\/strong> (it will turn blue).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now drag your video clip into the sequence<\/strong>, and voil\u00e0! Missing audio has instantly appeared<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

See? It’s so simple, but sometimes it’s easy not to notice the most obvious solutions, especially when it comes to the interface that you stare out for hours on end being slightly changed. How to Recover Deleted Audio Clip in Your Timeline<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Now, let’s say you are in the middle of your edit, and once again, you’re working with video clips that have audio clips attached to the file. For the sake of this article, let’s also say that while editing the video, you happen to accidentally delete one of the specific audio tracks underneath the video clip. Instead of looking through your bin for the clip or even worrying about deleting the video clip from the video track, all you have to do is hit the keyboard shortcut “F<\/strong>” (or you can go to Sequence>Match Frame<\/strong>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This will match your frame in the source monitor with the clip’s In and Out point already set. From here, all you have to do is drag the audio down onto your timeline in the original spot that you had it in, and because the “In and Out” points were already set, the clip will be the correct length, and you can just drop it down onto your timeline in the same place.
