a knock on the door, an unexpected phone call, another cup of coffee (and another, and another). \u00a0Sometimes when I jump up from my desk I simply forget to render out the current sequences that I&#8217;m working on. \u00a0With the computer sitting idle, this can be an unfortunate loss of render time. \u00a0Luckily, Final Cut Pro has &#8220;got your back&#8221; and can initiate a render even when you forget to.<\/p>\n<h5 id=\"to-adjust-the-auto-render-settings-to-up-to-the-menu-bar-and-choose-final-cut-pro-user-preferences-fcps-default-for-auto-render-is-45-minutes-on-the-bottom-right-change-sta\">\n<ol>\n<li>To adjust the auto render settings to up to the Menu Bar and choose Final Cut Pro &gt; with FCP sitting idle in the\u00a0<em>background,<\/em> the auto render will still kick in when it reaches the set time.<\/p>\n<p>Although this isn&#8217;t actually background rendering (rendering while working concurrently in FCP), it is a nice feature to save time in post. \u00a0<strong>Look for true background rendering in Apple&#8217;s Final Cut Pro X<\/strong>, to be released later this summer. \u00a0I personally previewed the background rendering capability of FCP X at the April 2011 <a href=\"http:\/\/supermeet.com\/\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\"><span><span>Supermeet<\/span><\/span><\/a> and was blown away by it&#8217;s efficiency!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Final Cut Pro&#8217;s auto render function can be set to initiate when the application remains idle for a set period of time.
