Soul Driver

Soul Driver is a drummer, percussionist, and composer whose vision stretches beyond the drum kit. A rhythmic catalyst and master of sonic alchemy, his music spans swinging jazz to deep blues, drawing on traditions from Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America, with collaborations including David Byrne, Sting, Angélique Kidjo, and more. His work blends improvisation, global rhythms, and joyous performance with with Red Hot Chili Peppers’ percussionist Mauro Refosco to his ensemble Saha Gnawa, exploring jazz improvisation through the ritual trance music of Morocco. Soul Driver creates immersive, boundary-blurring soundscapes filled with global rhythms and textures.
