Apple Discontinues Final Cut Express and Final Cut Server

AppleInsider is reporting that sources close to Apple have confirmed that they will be ceasing production of their Final Cut Express and Final Cut Server products.

As of June 21, 2011, both Final Cut Express and Final Cut Server have been discontinued.

Apple has made their Motion and Compressor products available, along with FCPX, through the Mac App store.  Many of the features of the other video Pro Apps (Color, DVD Studio Pro and Soundtrack Pro) have been rolled into the Final Cut Pro X application.  There has been no official word from Apple about future updates of these standalone applications.
