What is YouTube Content ID?

YouTube and other music details

Updated over 7 months ago

YouTube Content ID is a system that scans every video uploaded to YouTube to find copyrighted material that has been delivered to YouTube’s database by copyright owners.

The copyright owners get to choose what happens when their content is found in a video on YouTube. When a match is found, the person who published the video using the content gets a Content ID claim. Copyright owners can then decide to monetize the video by running ads.

In our case, we allow our customers to monetize videos on YouTube that use our music when the song is licensed on PremiumBeat. This means our customers can collect monetization revenue from these videos.
