Face Blur in Adobe Premiere Pro

Shooting undercover? Didn’t get all the on-screen releases signed? Use this technique for blurring faces in Adobe Premiere Pro.

Adobe Premiere Pro

In this video tutorial by GeniusDV you’ll learn a unique trick for using Premiere Pro to blur out faces in your video footage. In the past, I’ve always created blurs with masks, but this approach actually uses a shape in the title tool to isolate the blurred area of the frame.

Once the blur is applied to the shape, you’ll add a position keyframe every few frames (or seconds, depending on the amount of movement in the shot). This will keep the blurred area centered over the face.

GeniusDV is a great site to bookmark, as it is an excellent resource for video editing and post production training and tutorials. Now open up Premiere Pro and get to blurring!
