The Film Geek Glory of “Film Grab”
Welcome to your latest obsession: a website dedicated to collecting stills from some of the greatest movies of all time.
If you could use a nerdy pick me up, here is an introduction to Film Grab, an online resource for all your favorite film visuals. This super simple site offers just a few categories but a whole heck of a lot of stills. You can search by film title, director, or cinematographer, and there is a section dedicated to each of those categories on the site.
Film Grab also has a page on aspect ratios and additional pages for films by country and year of release. The site is very minimal and clean, allowing the work of these greats speak for themselves in an easy-to-access, unified manner.
The Diving Bell and the Butterfly
I frequent this site often to pull stills for film treatments or mood boards for projects that I am developing in pre-production. It’s also inadvertently helped me discover some pretty great new films and filmmakers. If you wander over to the Random Post tab on the top of the site, you can click the image below and pull up one of the thousands of stills at random. This is a super fun way to pick which film to watch on movie night.
